British Steel is teaming up with North Lincolnshire Council to help organisations prioritise suicide awareness, prevention and mental wellbeing at work.
Between 9.30am-4.30pm on Friday 10 April 2026, we’ll stage Baton of Hope Workplace Pledge Training in our Scunthorpe Conference Centre.
Teams from other organisations are welcome to join us for a half-day Suicide Awareness and Prevention Workshop and a half-day Mental Health Workshop. Both workshops are RSPH and CPD accredited and delivered face-to-face by an experienced trainer.
Farzana Khanum, Public Health Manager for Mental Health & Wellbeing & Suicide Prevention at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This is a valuable opportunity to build confidence, skills, and compassionate responses within your teams, helping colleagues feel supported and able to talk openly about mental health and suicide prevention.”
This collaboration also builds on the powerful moment when the Baton of Hope Tour UK came to Scunthorpe on 15 September, with British Steel proudly launching the Scunthorpe leg of the tour, helping shine a light on the importance of suicide prevention and mental health in our workplaces and communities. With the support of the Baton of Hope, we recently trained 20 employees in mental health and suicide awareness.
If you know anyone who works for an organisation which might be interested they can book a place here.
