National Apprenticeship week - Liam

To mark National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), we're shining a spotlight on the incredible opportunities our apprenticeships offer and the fantastic people training to be our next generation of steelmakers.

Throughout the week, we’re sharing stories and behind-the-scenes insights from our apprentices across our social media channels. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter/X and LinkedIn to hear directly from the people shaping their futures with us.

One of those apprentices is Liam, a mechanical apprentice, who spoke about what excites him most about his future with British Steel: “There’s so many different opportunities going forward. I don’t know what’s to come in the future, but I’m ready for anything.”

He also shared his advice for this year’s applicants: “Be yourself; take as much advice as possible and ask any questions as everyone’s so friendly.”

Applications for this year’s apprenticeship programmes at our Scunthorpe, Teesside, and Skinningrove sites are still open, but hurry – you have less than a week to apply until the deadline on Monday 16 February. Apply today for the opportunity to shape our future.
