Our finished sleepers are available in a wide range of rail gauges including narrow, metre, standard and broad gauges. Dual gauge sleepers are also possible depending on project volumes.
The table below shows the sleeper type required based on tonnage/axle load and train speed on the intended track. At lower axle loads and lower speeds a lighter sleeper is suitable i.e. 202, where as for higher loads and speeds a heavier sleeper is needed i.e. 600.
This chart is fixed for a standard rail guage of 1435mm, rail profile of CEN 60 and a sleeper spacing of 650mm. Other charts can be provided for alternative combinations of rail profile, gauge and sleeper spacing.
