Scunthorpe United have thanked British Steel for our sponsorship of the club following the conclusion of the agreement at the end of the 2017/18 season.
We began our association as the Iron’s front of shirt sponsors in the 2016/17 season, shortly after our new business was launched.
During this two season spell, Scunthorpe United reached the end of season play-offs on both occasions.
The deal has now come to an end and The Iron are set to announce a new sponsor shortly.
British Steel Deputy CEO Paul Martin said: “We’ve taken great pride in supporting Scunthorpe United Football Club following the launch of our new brand in 2016.
“Among the many highlights during the two-year partnership were our British Steel Family Days and the work we’ve done to jointly generate thousands of pounds for our Community Partner, Lindsey Lodge Hospice. Only last month our apprentices and engineers raised nearly £700 for the charity with a match at the Glanford Park ground in memory of lost friends and colleagues.
“We wish the club every success as they move forward with new partners.”
Iron CEO James Rodwell said: “We have very much enjoyed having British Steel on the front of our first team shirts for the past two seasons. We are pleased to have played our part in the re-emergence of the brand within the town.
“We would like to thank British Steel Deputy CEO Paul Martin and everyone associated with the company for their support of the football club during this time and hope the company can continue to go from strength to strength. We also look forward to continuing to work with British Steel as a business next season and beyond.”
