British Steel is looking for its next cohort of manufacturing trainees and team members to join the company in Scunthorpe.
With 20 new manufacturing trainees already just starting out this year on their steel careers with British Steel, the hunt is on for more to join them in January.
They will all be trained to perform a variety of roles including crane driving, forklift truck driving and manual handling.
Lucy Lings, Resourcing Advisor, said: “We’re investing significant sums in our people and operations as well as exploring new technologies that will put our business on a truly sustainable footing.
“We have ambitious plans and need like-minded people to join us. We’re looking for individuals who are highly motivated, keen to progress and eager to move our operations along our journey. All will benefit from first-class training from our highly skilled employees.”
The new trainees will receive extensive training, helping them develop both manufacturing knowledge and personal skills in manufacturing areas across the company’s site in Scunthorpe.
Ideally applicants will have achieved GCSE maths and English at grade C (4) or above and basic IT skills would be beneficial.
Lucy said: “These people will deliver significant value to our business and as they progress through the training programme, their levels of responsibility will increase. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people who want to quickly advance their careers, gain qualifications and experience.”
